EXHIBITIONS

With his worldview shaped growing up in a small East Coast town, Guy Needham has spent the past few years exploring parts of the globe often not seen.

His work draws on themes of identity and place, with a strong magnetism towards individual cultural narratives. The Hamar of Ethiopia is the third in his Tribal series, following The Huli of Papua New Guinea (2014) and Shades of Otara (2015). A relative late starter to photography, since 2010 he has worked as a freelance travel photographer with his work appearing in National Geographic Traveller, Lonely Planet, AFAR, Royal Photographic Society, International Traveller, Let’s Travel, CNN.com and every major New Zealand newspaper.

He is a member of the Royal Photographic Society, World Photographic Organisation and the Photographic Society of New Zealand.
